The Burrow Watchers
Music game made for the Jame Game #42 (theme: summoning, object: cards).
In TBW you must pick musical cards to please demons.
Each demon has its own musical tastes in terms of emotion, complexity and energy (and it's own tolerance to your mistakes...).
It's up to you to find what cards will work on them, using beats, solo and rythmic cards. You can shuffle the propositions once per turn.
If you are playing on iphone, turn off the silent mode to enable the sound.
All music samples were produced by us in the course of this jam.

This is peak fiction.
Congrats on 1st !!!
Totally deserved, I hoped you'd win :D
Thank you so much ! We're happy it resonated with you. We will very probably come up with better versions in a near future, so stay tuned :)
Also good job with Hex & Shuffle ;)
I love the idea, but the execution is not that good. At first I thought you choose one card for each bar (sad - happy, simple - complex, ...), then I got the idea that it is the mix of all the songs. Once I have chose then the songs, I have no way to remember in the next try which ones I chose and how could I adjust the tune. It also looks like depends on luck rather than having some fixed number of choices. Keep iterating!
Thanks for playing it and also for the honest feedback :)
There are clearly many improvements to be made to this quick prototype (made in 2 days). If you want to remember your picks for the next try, you can write down the content of the top-left corner label when the incantation is playing.
We agree that giving more feedback to the player and adding more gameplay mechanics are good leads to pursue if we decide to move forward with the concept.
